Miniature Animal Ceramics Workshop: March 7, 2026
Join artist Rami Kim who will be hosting the Miniature Animal Ceramics workshop on Saturday, March 7th at Block Shop! This hands-on ceramic workshop celebrates the charm and character of animals, and the participants will learn to handbuild their own small animal sculpture and paint a companion tile, each infused with personality and care.
What You’ll Learn:
-Basic handbuilding techniques
-How to create gesture and emotion through shape and texture
-Underglaze and surface painting methods on clay
-How ceramics move from soft clay to finished glazed works
Each participant will create and keep:
-One glazed animal sculpture (fired and ready for pickup in 2 weeks)
-One hand-painted animal tile (fired and ready for pickup in 2 weeks)
-All tools and materials will be provided. No prior clay experience is needed — just bring your imagination (and maybe a photo of a favorite animal).
The animal sculpture and tile will need to be fired before they can be taken home. This will take approximately 2 weeks and we will email everyone when they are ready for pick up from Block Shop.
The workshop will be from 11am-3pm. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided.
There is a maximum of 12 people due to limited seating. We are unable to accept cancellations once the workshop has been booked and are unable to offer refunds. We appreciate your understanding.
Cost: $225 per person (all materials included)
